MEPA is a dynamic organisation and we constantly strive to achieve the right skills mix to respond not only to our clients’ needs but also to respond to the needs of the Maltese Islands from a planning and environment perspective.
We continue to focus on strengthening MEPA’s core competitive advantage – its people – by hiring and leveraging diverse talents. Opportunities are given to recruits to further develop their talents and expertise. In fact, several members of staff who have started at the lower grades have progressed to higher grades by taking up a related field of study at university level. The Authority acknowledges this effort and supports staff members who wish to pursue their studies.
More importantly, MEPA’s greatest challenge is that of having an important say on issues related to planning and environment. Our expert staff work together in interdisciplinary teams to discuss, whilst proposing policies, strategies and new initiatives in areas that MEPA is involved in or on projects where the Authority is in a position to significantly contribute in.
