SENSOR

The project "Sustainability Impact Assessment: Tools for Environmental, Social and Economic Effects of Multifunctional Land Use in European Regions (SENSOR) " was an Integrated Project financed under the 6th Framework Programme (FP6) of the European Commission.

SENSOR’s main objective was to develop Sustainability Impact Assessment Tools (SIAT).  SIAT was tailored to meet the needs of analysts and policy makers at the European level and allows the assessment of land-use-related policy effects on sustainability by means of:

1. European policy scenario analyses;
2. Regional threshold assessments and;
3. Stakeholder target identification.

A total of 33 research partners from all over Europe, including MEPA, have participated in this project.

The total budget for SENSOR was €9 million, of which MEPA’s share was €147,780. The EU financed 100% of the additional costs incurred by MEPA to undertake this project. The project was concluded in May 2009.

Within MEPA, the project was coordinated by the Policy Coordination Unit, with assistance from the EU and Multilateral Affairs Unit. More information about the project, its activities and deliverables can be found on the project's website.
